Sergej Vutuc

Vutuc is a photographer and he publishes his own photographs in magazines connected to skateboard and street culture and exhibits in numerous shows worldwide. In his work he does not seek for the most sensational aspects that underground phenomena like skateboarding and punk have to offer. His interest is merely focussed in the use and structure of public space, the socially conditioned active presences within it, the non-spaces and their forms of decay.

Currently you can see a exhibition of him and other artists in Montpellier (FR)
"Aires de Jeux, Champs de Tensions" at pavillon populaire.

California Dreamin - Myths and Legends of Los Angeles

Based on an idea by Hedi Slimane, the exhibition California Dreamin be held from February 26 to March 26, 2011 in Almine Rech Gallery (Paris,FR).

Hedi Slimane has installed two years ago in Los Angeles art scene and culture specific to California was interested before and this match has been considerably strengthened.
Works by Bruce Conner and Dennis Hopper died recently, both characters and iconic artists of the Californian culture will also be part of the exhibition.
Many artist where Invited to Participate.

Help Japan By James White

Canadian artist James White has created a poster titled "Help Japan" whose funds raised will be fully dedicated to helping victims. The poster represents the Japanese flag, including the famous red central disc symbolizes the sun is "cracked", as if struck by an earthquake.

RIP Owsley "Bear" Stanley

Owsley “Bear” Stanley, an iconic iconoclast and pioneering LSD chef who produced millions of doses in his Bay Area labs (after allegedly finding the recipe in a chemistry journal at UC Berkeley), passed away last sunday in Australia following a car crash near his home in Queensland. He was 76.
